Well it is a website, arguably it lets us create and share content if you consider posts content and arguably it lets us network socially if you ignore the fact that most people here are only ever known by their screen name. So maybe strictly speaking, but I wouldn't consider it a social networking site in the same way I wouldn't consider a taco a sandwich. --- I am awesome and so are you. I question the ability to develop contacts when you don't know the user except by a site specific handle. In the strictest sense of the word sure. You can make friends on the board, exchange info and meet them on other sites, but I personally feel that stretches the definition. So while technically social media, I personally wouldn't consider it as such.
