You must have heard this story already, a lot of people are upset at maher cause he used the n word.....

I personally think if it's gonna be used that's one of the least bad ways to use it, aside from actual historical usage. He wasn't directing it at anyone, using it insultingly, or even applying it to a time period beyond slavery... He was literally making a joke about a slave back in the slave days sooo lol.

It's still crass sure but I don't think it's that bad. If he said "I'm a house slave" instead it probably would've been more okay right? Compared to if someone talked about black people in modern times saying "These n-words on the streets blah blah blah", if they said "These slaves on the streets blah blah blah" it would still be a horrible thing to say. The meaning should count more than the word itself and the meaning was pretty harmless here

I'm liberal and all aboard the "don't be racist" train but I'm not buying the outrage on this one really

I kinda agree with you king bowser, love your username btw. He wasn't using it in a hate filled way, imo. In my opinion you have to look at what the intentions of the person are, and what kind of person he is, if he saying it in a mean spirited way. And most important of all was the joke funny, this is very important
