As someone who was diagnosed as "depressed" and given anti-depressants when I was 19-21 years old, I can honestly look back at myself then and say "wow I was really just a lazy, unmotivated idiot with no idea how to cope with adulthood."

I've had major depression, among other things, since I was 10ish, I'm 30 now. I have to take meds to avoid wanting to hang myself, and it works. It runs in my family. My dad, brother, sister, and I all have it.
