The rip and tear is invalid because you hit doomguy's ability cap at that time (1) when you said huge guts. No further abilities can be used when you hit cap.

It just says once you reach the cap no further abilities can be used. I reached it, was at a state where I wouldn't be able to use further abilities then extended the cap

I can't check the wartimes of M4 unfortunately, but that's the premised I worked with during M4. If you can dig up a precedent against what I said I will gladly allow the rip and tear. Otherwise...

This depends on whether you interpret Knee Deep's cap to apply at ability declaration (say you use ability hit cap) or resolution (all effects are done and you have no more KOs left, hit cap), I think. If it's the former Doomguy doesn't work because yeah, you say DYNAMITE and then it sucks to be you (in which case we will deploy a hotfix to his wording because that's stupid and not the intent). If it's the latter Doomguy can still work because the order of resolution is Do Ability Thing 1, Check If Done, If Not Do Ability Thing 2, Check If Done, repeat until you hit done and THEN set Ability = Resolved - which means that since Ability Thing 1 is 'Passive Cap = KOs + 8', Doomguy still works since the passive only checks later on.

This is more a systemic timing check than anything used for a specific ability. We've been looking into defining 'use', 'resolve', 'declare', 'target', et al and this kinda requires us to establish when an ability is considered to have resolved. The wording's vague enough upon further analysis that it looks like it's possible for Doomguy to get more abilities in if KOs occur after he hits cap, so I don't really have a preference for how it should work here. I just want to clarify that the primary reason I'm pondering this is because it's pretty closely related to how ability resolution works in general.

It kinda matters because the issue is you can read doomguy to say 'once you've hit the cap on abilities used you can't use more, period, even if you get more KO's later', or 'once you've hit the cap on abilities used you can't use more until you get more KO's'. Which means that you then need to define what 'using' an ability means - because if it's declaring the ability, then Doomguy's DYNAMITE ceases to work unless somebody's already been KO'd (because you declare it and hit the cap before the passive's limit is extended). If it's resolving the ability successfully then you need to define how resolution works to make sure DYNAMITE grants him more ability usages instead of doing nothing. This is the text, for reference:

Doomguy's abilities that don't have an assigned cooldown may be used any amount of times per wartime, and cannot be modified by allied abilities in any way. However, he can only use a total number of abilities each wartime equal to the number of mercenaries KOed in the match + 1. Once this limit has been reached, no further abilities can be used.

Note the vagueness of 'once this limit has been reached, no further abilities can be used'. This is why we need to work on system mechanics here, potentially - because one of the possible interps leads us there and it's not necessarily a WRONG interp.

Session Skills (Trigger) - Whenever you begin your ability phase with one of Ellie's abilities (or from a PS attached to her), there is a 50% chance the next ability you declare after this will resolve without going on cooldown. If successful, it may extend to the next ability as well, but with a 10% reduced chance of success, continuing this way until it fails. This only applies to Wartime abilities, but Limited Use abilities are not applicable at all.
