I currently work hourly but I'm guaranteed at least 40 hours a week.... But it's never 40 hours a week. It's 6 days a week and 60 hours so 10 hours a day for 6 days straight or 12 hours a day for 5 days.

What about salarymen?

Salary jobs usually have actual objectives to complete, versus hourly jobs being mostly how long you can do it, which translates into hourly wage jobs being more likely to saddle you with BS busywork if there's nothing that really needs to be done. Salary jobs also tend to usually be exempt from overtime, & a lot of employers will try to exploit that.

Really this question depends on who you are working for. If you are looking at a salaried position, you need to ask what their work/ life balance is like, what the company atmosphere is like, how shifts are managed, how time off is managed, etc.

Non exempt positions have more straightforward questions to ask.
