I've never liked the way this sort of stuff looks. Putting gold on items like this just feels trashy to me. Obviously this isn't actual gold. But the look is the same. Gold cars, tooth brushes, phones, etc. just have a feel of someone with no class won the lottery. A definite Beverely Hillbillies vibe.

It's really just a 'gold tone' than actual 'gold color', like the shiny type gold you see:

black, white, and red are the only colors that look good on a matte plastic like that

They both look amazing, would be better if the buttons and playstation symbol were silver and the silver one had gold. I think mixing them together would have been better but they both look great. I like that shade of gold anyways. The major downside is that these are not pro consoles.

I was thinking the same...but I guess they wanna sell them at a cheaper price point.

But I really don't see why they can't do the same for the PRO models (I think they are both the same aesthetically).
