I quit my previous therapist for a while because she kept telling me things I already knew, didn't understand a lot of the things I wanted to talk about, and generally hands out suggestions about how to improve my life that I had already considered, but had to refuse because I knew exactly why those options wouldn't work for me. Then I quit the therapist before that because she was a control freak who kept telling me what to do in my life, and kept shaming me when I feel enough anxiety and guilt for how I live my life, and what I've done. It's not that these therapists weren't helpful during the time I went to see them, it's just that they have outlasted their usefulness to me. Anyway, what does this board consider "good" therapy?

I must have these answers.

it sounds like the therapist was giving you advice like they're supposed to that you staunchly refused to take due to being conceited and thinking only you know what's right
