how ironic that the first president in US history to be pro gay rights has his supporters from the gay group banned from a gay event.

cuck liberals at it again.

https://www.washingtonblade.com/2017/06/06/trump-to-address-anti-lgbt-leaders-days-before-equality-march/

When are you people going to realize he is a con artist who just says what he needs to to the right people so he can get ahead?

I've never seen a more vague article jumping to conclusions without any backing proof. Written by a leftist for leftists.

What about that article did you find to be vague?

I doubt the gay Trump supporters are intolerant of gays.

They just want to be included. Conservative values are more than "anti gay". And clearly a lot of conservatives are evolving on the issue.

All this does is exclude people who want to participate in your event to supposedly spread gay awareness or whatever. It also shows young kids they can't have dissenting political views or be unique

The Pride movement is focused on inclusiveness and creating a safe space for not only queer People, but also for women and minorities who identify as queer. The Trump administration has spearheaded a campaign of divisiveness and marginalization. Furthermore, the people on his administration such as Betsy Devoss refuse to stand for the rights of queer students. He has aligned himself with anti-secular forces which will undoubtedly hurt the queer movement. They don't deserve to be there.

They're backing an Administration which is intolerant, which is just as bad

And yeah having political views that stand by the whole "gay conversion therapy" thing should be seen as a negative thing

This isn't shocking, the regressive left has been extremely intolerant of any LGBT person who doesn't openly bash Trump and conservatives for a long time.

Or maybe, I dunno, they just think that having a float that at best would best ridiculously controversial and in all likelihood would offend the majority of people there is a fucking stupid idea.

Like, why do you think it's a good idea to have a float representing an anti-LGBT platform at a pro-LGBT event? Oh wait, no, this is just you reaching to call anyone on the left intolerant without even applying rudimentary logic.

I consider myself mostly on the left, so if I separate your angst and actually address the point you failed to make (or counter) it's a part of the left (regressive) not liking people who do not conform to the absolute hatred of anything conservative, which funnily enough is intolerant. <3

This is a complete non-sequitor. The idea of not allowing a pro-Trump float at a pride parade is not based on how you feel about Trump supporters, it's based on how you feel about having a pro-Trump float at a pride parade. It is entirely possible for a gay person to like Trump and have logically sound reasons to support it. But in the specific context of gay rights, Trump objectively represents an anti-LGBT message.

Queer women and queer minorities face extra challenges than their white, male counterparts. For example, women have to deal more with sexual assault (which our president seems fond of) and queer black people often have to deal with backlash in the black community.

Many white males had to deal with abuse, especially because of religion. But we know because of polling and statistical data that people of color in America have been, traditionally, more religious and less accepting of homosexuality than white people.

A higher percentage of blacks might be religious but I think the sheer number of religious white people is still larger.

The people in Trumps admin are anti-LGBT. He supports anti-LGBT legislation hidden as "religious freedom bills". In the context of this event, an event that gives the opportunity for people who might have had to hide who they are to come out and be proud, there is no reason to praise Trump at all.
