I like NWA as well, but let's also not pretend like they were role models when they were hitting women, gangbanging, and living pretty fucking reckless lives early on. Yeah, I feel like at his age he should be able to see his mistakes more as well. To be fair he was probably the least controversial member of NWA, but Eazy E did some pretty bad things and was involved in gangs. I loved the movie, but having three scenes of these strawman scenarios where they get arrested and how every cop acted like an Italian in a Spike Lee movie it was pretty unrealistic.

He was part of NWA over a quarter century ago. Sometimes people change in a 26 year time frame.

Did he condemn his old lyrics? Don't think so(not saying he should), but if he stands by that shit it makes him a complete hypocrite to condemn someone over a joke, where the context of what he said mostly wasn't. He just made it seem like he is entitled to say homophobic and bigoted things in his music, in a serious manner, but making a silly joke with a certain word is over the line.

Okay what are you talking about here? I haven't been keeping with Ice Cube recently.

Using homophobic slurs was something that was commonly done back then, and kinda socially acceptable sadly. I'm sure if he was grilled on it he would have condemned it as well. Using racial slurs hasn't been the "norm" for quite a long time.
