.....as a sex offender? Did you read this story? If you haven't follow the link below.

Personally i have some problems with what happened here. I mean what about people who murder someone else? Do they have to be put on a murderer registry where they have to register every yr. or so? I know that many states have sex offender registries, probably most in the u.s. Including my state which i think is one of the toughest in the u.s.

There has always been a double standard with sex offenders.

Although if people feel they will always pose a threat (even with counseling/registering/etc.) why let them out in the first place?

While on some level I can agree that the additional scrutiny is unfair, it's worth noting that the re-offend rate is far higher on sex offenders than most other crimes whereas murder has the lowest recidivism rate.

I mean it seems like he went through a lot after the incident. All the proper therapy and punishments and shit. He doesn't strike me as particularly high-risk any more, and that's enough for me to be fine with him playing.
But people have the right to know that he could be dangerous, so I can't say I have a problem with the information being released either.

Just sad all around, but ultimately his own fault, so eh.

Why not just execute people for sex offenses. It's pretty clear the government and society want them totally removed.

Your prison sentence is only part of your punishment. Having a criminal record has, and absolutely should continue to have, a negative impact on many areas of a criminal's life.

I have no problem with him being outed at all. He molested a little girl.

Given that he was a minor when he committed the crime and was sentenced in a juvenile court, I have mixed feelings on his record being public. Usually those records are sealed.

The victim seems to believe he's scum 5 years on, I doubt what he did was a minor infraction, I wouldn't trust him with that damning report.

There's a world of difference between pissing behind a dumpster and rapist.
Unfortunately, they're both "sex offenders"

I believe things like murder, violent sex crimes, and stuff on that level might be an exception depending on the nature of the crime.

Unless he was pissing on a 6 year old behind a dumpster, it wasn't that.

If Zeus is right, the perp was a juvenile at the time, and that's not public record.

Also, I never said that there wasn't a record. I mentioned having mixed feelings about his record being public *because* he was a minor and those records are usually sealed.
