It depends on why they're on the other side.

If it's a matter of economics, then no, I'm not better than them just I'm on one side or the other.

If it's because they think that "gay people already had the same rights as straight people - to marry someone of the opposite sex" is a good argument, then I'm just better at thinking than they are.

If it's because they believe all Muslims to be violent extremists, that being queer is inherently wicked and immoral, or that Christianity should be the only religion people are allowed to practice, then yes, I am more righteous than they are.

That's a tricky question. I naturally believe in the morality of my political stances, and so those who support the opposite must promote the immoral, according to me. But we're all a bunch of flawed humans, and I'm nothing special, so I can't be that judgmental. In terms of the people I do feel are bad, "extremists" doesn't exactly encapsulate all of them. It's entirely possible to be willfully ignorant and mean-spirited within the scope of mainstream politics. But it's more of an attitude thing than a belief thing.

I think this is the gist of it. Stuff like economics, country relations, etc is a matter of running the country. There's no hard and fast rule to that.
Stuff like denying human rights is objectively bad.

This.

For the record, I have met many moral Republicans - or rather, at least Republicans I consider moral.

Ironically, they're the pariahs of their party. Or... no wait, that's actually entirely appropriate.

It's human nature to consider everyone who shares your specific moral views to be moral, though. And I understand it goes the same way for them.

(I just disagree that "driving homosexuality back underground" is a good, moral thing)

As a rule, your own views will drive the answer to this.

Hitler and the Nazis believed they were right and moral.

In truth, Morality is subjective. So, on the basis of "I'm better because I'm more moral" being a thing, the answer must be a schrodinger's answer, because both sides are equals.

I think I have objectively better political opinions, and depending on what their opinions are, I might be definitely better than they are. However I am far from perfect so even if I have slightly better political opinions that someone they could potentially beat me overall due to other areas.

nobody claimed otherwise, nerd

the premise is that someone has views I think are wrong. to my view, they are then objectively wrong. this isn't a fact situation, there is no "objectively the best answer" in politics unless you then add an addendum of "to get _X_ outcome" afterwards
