I dumped around 580 hours into one character, and about 250 into my other two characters each, and then the game kind of just fell off. That doesn't mean it's necessarily a watered-down, lite version of MH. They can, and they have in the past (swimming, climbing, mounting, weapon arts and styles, etc) but these new changes don't appear to complement the already-established gameplay (stealth) and look downright silly (grappling hook), but, we'll have to see. Even the prowler mode where you play as a cat has that extremely distinctive feel to it that replicate everything important about the game. Every change they've made in the last installments did not touch that. While they added new monsters, new mechanics, and various new systems, those critical elements were untouched. It takes 30 seconds of looking at the trailer to see that this is completely different. It might still be a good, even a great game. Hell, it might be better.
