I mean he exposed himself as a little bitch, took a pay cut and had to run to the team that he was on the brink of eliminating the previous year but he got what he wanted.

Made him look like a bitch. he as up 3-1 on the Warriors in the WCF the year before this and the Warriors came back to win...so he decided to join a team that just won 73 games to take the easy route to the Finals...I mean more power to him but it made him look weak.

no 73 wins is a good accomplishment. the fact that they lost the finals means it doesn't matter.

NBA is a game that revolves around super stars to win.

He was on OKC his whole career. Said he wanted to stay. He was an mvp type player.

Warriors have been to the last two finals winning one and losing one in game 7 with I believe 3 all stars including the best player the previous year.

Last year the Warriors beat OKC after OKC was up 3-1. They were one game from going to a final.

After losing Durant said ill leave my fans and city that loves me and take a pay cut so that I can play for the championship favorites and get myself a free ring.

Im sure plenty of players not on his team think it was a bitch move. Plus it was a short contract for less than market value. Could definitely not end up being better for his career.

I get what you're both saying, but I'm finding it difficult to really care. As a player they surely want to play with the best and win the most they can.

I watch more soccer than any other sport and I see this same thing regarding fans thinking players should have loyalty to the team and I disagree. Do the best thing for your career and goals. If that means using a team as a stepping stone to a better one, so be it.

i mean when it comes to Legacy its a bit different. Some will argue that everyone had all stars next to them, and Durant ended up being the best player here.....But when you look back on it, you had a team that broke NBA records, went 73-9....and they add a Superstar. A Superstar that lost to them when 3-1 just months prior to signing...The Warrior were far and away the best team. The competition wasn't even close....Legacy wise where does this season rank in context? Its like if you play NBA2K and edit the rosters so your team has Durant, Curry, LeBron, Vintage Jordan and Vintage Olajuwan....sure you'll win the championship every year, but where does it rank with other performances....Its not "wrong" what he did...it just made him look week, especially when his previous team would have been title contenders and kept the competition in the NBA much closer....because of that he gets criticized and IMO, rightfully so...do you want, but expect the criticism..

I get what you're saying. I was actually a pretty big Warriors fan as a kid probably 15ish years ago when they were garbage. I stopped really watching basketball but that first championship I was kinda happy and was happy for my brother and dad who were always big fans. Last year I couldn't care less and halfway wanted them to lose. (I blame them for the sharks loss in 2015 I think and hate the band wagon). Really I hate Durant though and I'm happy for the fans and the rest of the Warriors. Just not interested in the sport and have no respect for Durant.

I knew about both Durants. In Pokemon I gave my Durant the nickname "Kevin" lol.

But that was years ago, before the human Durant jumped ship to go to the all-star team that embarrassed him by coming back from a 3-1 deficit.

They both left their teams for a better one. GS had/has more firepower than Miami though, but the main thing that people are gonna see is how GS beat OKC in the Western finals the year before. He's a great player no doubt, but it's like Kely said: he'll be labelled as Kevin "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" Durant from now on.

I don't really watch basketball but i like the culture and stuff around it (lol) so kinda give it a cursory follow now and then.

it's really fascinating to me how americans react to things like this in sport though. like the idea of a great team acquiring a great player is somehow cheating and to get a valid championship in some people's eyes you basically need to win a title all by yourself.

like maybe it's a good thing in a way in the sense that in theory it promotes equality between teams but idk. like you don't see this happening in football or w/e, bar dudes who say Messi wouldn't be as good playing for some shit team I guess but those people tend to be ridiculed fairly roundly.

Ya, parity between the teams in the leagues seem to be the most important thing. In soccer I don't see too much people have an issue with creating the best team possible. Most fan outrage comes from how players join those teams, regarding team loyalty, and not the fact that there are super teams

Biggest issue is an all star leaving a championship caliber team to join the team that just beat them (after being a game from winning) and leaving a ton of money on the table because you are are a coward that knows you don't have the heart of a champion.

The Warriors did nothing wrong. They won a championship. That's what they're supposed to do. Durant is the only punk ass bitch.
