Is the Dragon Ball Super manga canon? Because it completely skipped the Resurrection F arc. Just mentioned in briefly. I think Dragon Ball Super's anime is the canon one. Its like the reverse of most japanese animation.

Why would they make a sequel anime without his permission? And yes he had some creative input. Mostly character designs IIRC.

GT actually had some decent ideas. I liked the concept of the Dragon Balls having negative effects or just saying "fuck you for abusing us." And the Tuffle/Saiyan thing.

I wouldn't say the ending of Z was retconned necessarily. It just takes on a different meaning now that we have a few arcs of Super under our belt.

Right about then Zeus realized that Arv was either a really shitty troll alt or suffered an impairing injury.

As for it being a commercial failure, I've never seen any evidence to that effect and I suspect that it's just more trolling.

This, pretty much. However, a lot of the story arcs were too short and, on the whole, it tried to channel early DB too hard.

Having seen random Super clips, parts of episodes etc, I realize that I have very little interest in actually watching it. My favorite run for the franchise was the earlier parts of DB back before it devolved into just fighting and build-up to fights.

GT I wanted to watch but, at the time it was coming out, I didn't really have access. I guess I could try to track it down now. The random clips, episodes, etc, I've watched look alright.

And, in general, the point where I really lost interest in the franchise was the Frieza fight although the series jumped the shark with the Android and Cell sagas. There was tons of time travel bullshit, a new super-sayian mode that looked almost identical to the first (begging the question why bother at all?), and you had Trunks who felt like a total Mary Sue since he randomly shows up to save the day, knows a lot of inside info on the heroes, etc.
