Star Fox 64 - Andross is taking over the Lylat System, stop him. This is a timeline reboot.
Star Fox Adventures - A dinosaur planet on the edge of the Lylat System is being ravaged by a tyrannical Tyrannosaurus, go stop him.
Star Fox Assault - A new bio-mechanical alien race has appeared from another galaxy to threaten the Lylat System, go stop them.
Star Fox Command - A new alien race has appeared to once again threaten the Lylat System. Stop them. Has multiple endings that go nowhere.
Star Fox Zero - Andross is taking over the Lylat System, stop him. This is another timeline reboot.

I only know the SNES story line:

Once upon a time, all was well on the planet Corneria and Andross was considered a top scientist. Overtime he became more mad scientist and it grew to the point where he was removed and banished to the planet Venom for heinous experiments and programs (one of them being sending Fox's father into the blackhole on that map). Years later, Andross has amassed a huge WTF army and wants revenge on Corneria and sets to destroy it.

Game is Fox and team stopping Andross from destroying Corneria with said huge WTF army.

Outer space fox goes on road trip with friends to the place that his dad died and gets told by a space pig that his dad squealed real good before he died. His one friend suffers from ptsd and sees his life flash before his eyes and thanks the fox because he thought they almost had him every ten seconds. He travels to the place his dad died to find out the dad was hiding there to avoid hanging out with fox's annoying blue bird friend. At the end of the story we finally learn what the Fox says.

SPOILERS

Andross was a scientist of the Lylat System who did horrible biological experiments. General Pepper banished him to planet Venom. Some time later, Andross has amassed an army and attacked planet Corneria. Enter James McCloud of Star Fox.

James along with his teammates Peppy and Pigma spearheaded the counterattack. During a battle on Venom, Pigma revealed he has defected to enemy team. James lost his life, but ultimately was able to defeat Andross and end the war.

Years later...

James' son, Fox, brought Star Fox out of retirement with new members. Soon after, Andross has resurfaced and resumed his attack on the Lylat System. Once again, Star Fox takes the fight to Venom and defeats the evil scientist.

Then the team has an adventure on some dinosaur planet. Then some alien bug things attack. Then some left over biological weapons that Andross created emerge from Venom's seas. Also, James may still be alive.

Then Zero happened revealed Venom is not even a planet, but actually another weapon created by Andross wtf.
