finished durarara season 2 (part 1) like four years late. finished tanya of the evil. watching ACCA now.

started season 2 of titan from the beginning again with my brother, hopefully we can get through it fast...

It's not my fault I sold away all of my free time to grad school.

Ok maybe. Maybe that is my fault. At least I've gotten back into JRPG's though! (And by "JRPG's" I actually just mean the Trails series, but that's enough for me)

I haven't really been watching any in a long time aside from when I did watch some YGO. Literally seen more DBZ Abridged these days

I'm currently watching Gundam IBO. Not too into it though. The two MCs are great, but the story and setting are kinda lame. Just ran into a guy who literally has a harem and it's played completely straight. So weird.

I feel like there's usually at least a sequel to something I'd care to see, but Summer 2017 just looks....not good. Not sure if there are even 3-4 shows I'd check out if I was watching anime again

Marvel Future Avengers is one of the less bad looking shows on the Summer chart. I don't think anything else needs to be said.

I remember not liking Beelzebub at first.... I thought the dialogue was super generic and weak.


I think the Park Debut won me over. Man I miss that series.

finished ACCA

this was pretty bad. the mysteries/plot hooks were okay and probably what kept me watching. otherwise, I don't have much good to say about it. I liked the concept of the different districts but that wasn't really done that well. the aesthetics are unique for an anime but also extremely dull. "dull" is how I would describe the whole show in one word. everything is just so flat and bland, especially the characters. jean is seriously one of the least interesting or entertaining protagonists I can ever remember. he's just so lame. I'm not sure what was up with some of these character designs either. like the guy who is old but has a bishounen ponytail and also a puberty mustache. he just looked fucking gross. it also bugged me how they played up the smoking so much. like, I don't care if a character smokes but it's 2017. do they really have to play it up in universe like anybody watching doesn't know smoking is really dumb?

well anyway, time to watch the titan 2 finale now this is better

and now finished attack on titan season 2. this was fucking amazing, probably even better than season 1 overall. I think the pacing was faster which helped. everything after the reiner/bertholdt twist was just so good. eren vs. reiner was probably the best fight in the anime. I really like how they did reiner, bertholdt, and ymir's characters. it felt like they wanted to make you feel conflicted between liking them and hating them which was done really well. but yeah, this was probably more emotional and exciting than season 1 was for the most part (battle of trost maybe being an exception but it's hard to top that first time...) not entirely sure I understood the twist at the end but really interesting stuff there too!

in hindsight I probably could just spoilered that whole thing but whatever. easily the greatest anime of the year so far.
