And now the novel that reminded and proved to a lot of people that, yes, King is still a damn good author, and a good bit different than his usual stuff. While not really scary, this book is full of great characters, a great story, and plenty of memorable moments. I don't quite think it's the "best King ever" some people say, but it more than deserves its praise.

Did you skip "Misery"? Or just never read it?

This was the 2nd King novel I read; it instantly became an all-time favorite for me.

While I really loved the first couple of 100 pages and the end from the moment the real action began, I felt like it dragged on a bit in the middle part.

The past is obdurate.

What actually transpires beneath the veil of an event horizon? Decent people shouldn't think too much about that.

"Time travel in the classic sense has no place in rational theory, but temporal distortion does exist on the quantum level, and more importantly it can be controlled."

Green Mile is easily my favorite King book and one of my two favorite books of all time (along with Chris Crutcher's "Whale Talk")

Desperation 1996
I'm going to give this one another chance sometime soon, but for now, it holds a "simply ok" place in my heart. It has some really good stuff, and not much legitimately bad, but it doesn't stand out as amazing.

Doctor Sleep 2013

I wasn't really sure what to expect from this. It's a sequel to a massive classic, not something King has really done before, but the story sounded interesting and had potential. And for the most part, it delivered. Great characters and great horror and imagery. The only real problem I had with this is that the villains were really never all that threatening - they got beaten time and time again.

I'm just going to say that I can't stress enough how much better the book Under the Dome is compared to the show. I still can't get over what the show did to Junior, Linda, and Chef.

Also, I don't think the collection it's in has shown up yet, but the story "The Last Rung on the Ladder" was probably the first Stephen King story that actually made me tear up a bit.

Nah, only collections so far are Skeleton Crew and Four Past Midnight. I've read all of Everything's Eventual except Little Sisters, which I avoided because I hadn't read The Dark Tower yet, and now that I have never went back to it lol
