On orders higher up, the conversations were transcribed, and, contrary to law, the names of Trump associates unmasked.

Then those transcripts, with names revealed, were spread to all 16 agencies of the intel community at the direction of Susan Rice, and with the possible knowledge of Barack Obama, assuring some would be leaked after Trump became president.

The leak of Gen. Michael Flynn's conversation with the Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, after Obama imposed sanctions on Russia for the hacking of the DNC, may have been a product of the unmasking operation. The media hit on Flynn cost him the National Security Council post.

What conversations? With the exception of Flynn, we don't know who talked to whom, and about what, but, in general, just speaking to somebody doesn't mean you've broken the law. As Trump pointed out, Clinton and high-ranking democrats had lots of contacts with Russians, why aren't they being investigated? First, the deep state cooked up a laughable, fake story, found no proof, and now they're going for the "obstruction of justice" angle - on the fake story, no less.

The fact remains that Trump was never under investigation. The fact remains that Comey leaked things to the press, showing that he's working for the deep state, i.e. AGAINST the American people.

After Scalise, how many more shootings at patriotic politicians by crazed individuals who believed the democratic party and the media's lies about Trump must happen for you to realise that these lies have tangible consequences and are destroying American society?

Buchanan in the editorial you posted, and Trump, and Gingrich, all complain about how "they" (deep state/mainstream media/Democrats/Soros/whatever boogeyman you want to insert into that pronoun) are out to get Trump, citing the Flynn fiasco as evidence of the unusual spread of leaks from within the intelligence community.

But it cannot both be true that

That is not the fault of anyone but Flynn himself.

Earlier in this topic, you yourself claimed that leaks are good when they "expose shady dealings that harm people." These leaks exposed a shady deal by Flynn that he deliberately kept secret from people such as Pence. This shady secret was bad enough that Trump had to take action and call for Flynn's resignation.

Therefore, by your own logic, that leak was good.

If the information hadn't been leaked to the media, it could've been handled privately, between the parties involved (Trump, Flynn, Pence). Instead, Trump lost a very valuable member of his cabinet.

There is nothing shady about Flynn talking to the Russian ambassador. Remember, Flynn had to resign not because of the content of that conversation, but the technicality that the conversation happened at all, Pence didn't know, and then that was leaked by the deep state to the media.
