i could get a MFA in art history and it could open up a whole world of museum jobs for me

but the problem is more student loans because i'd need to take more out

and museum jobs don't really pay a ton even though i'd probably really enjoy doing them more

Problem solved

i'm not so worried about that because i could get some easily from people at my current job

i'm more worried about the programs i was looking at wanted a formal research paper that i've done for review. which isn't too bad but most of my research papers are from 2010-2011 and i'm not the world's greatest writer. i'm not bad at all when i'm doing research papers but i usually would get like b- to a- on my papers.

how would i ever do that if i've been out of school for 5-6 years? i'm sure they'd be more flexible with someone like that.

the program i'm looking at just says references anyway. not like "2 professional and 1 academic" or anything with specificity.

That seems risky and expensive for the word "probably". Can you not intern at one and see if it is something you like prior to adding more to your student loans?

no. i don't work any type of hours that would allow to "intern" and most places only accept interns that are students.

i could volunteer but the volunteer positions are customer service positions and not working in the museum collections which is what i would like to do. i don't really want to volunteer my time selling tickets at the front desk of a museum unless i'm in a degree program and i'm trying to network.

I wanted to go back. I feel like it'd be a waste though, given the fact I don't trust myself to succeed and don't care if I get a job. I require passion, and I've tried so many things (including beekeeping), but ultimately seem to have just retired :/

My knees and hips aren't great, but I'd have probably been in a trade had it not been for that. Most of my friends (and some family) are/were electricians.
