He was interviewed by Oliver Stone as he viewed his disdain for gay people and his belief to "uphold traditional conservative values" as God put him on this earth to do. He said "And i can tell you this, that as head of state today, i believe it's my duty to uphold traditional values and family values. But why? Because same-sex marriages will not produce any children. God has decided, and we have to care about birth rates in our country. We have to reinforce families. But that doesn't mean there shouldn't be any persecutions against anyone" Putin has rallied against same sex adoptions saying it's better for children to be raised in traditional households and said "i cannot say that gay adoption is welcomed by our public. I say this frankly. As in my view, children will have a freeher choice when they become adults if they grow up in a traditional family" Putin also claims to be "rather liberal" because they don't persecute gay people like some Muslim countries where homosexuals face death and said Russia has no restrictions or harassment based on gender because even gay people in Russia get "state awards and orders for their achievements" But his controversial law to ban dissemination to minors of "propaganda" in legitimizing homosexuality and widespread animosity towards gay people in Russia counters that argument. Authorities regularly deny gay rights activities permission to rally and gay people have been said to have been rounded up in the country as well. When Stone asked him if he would shower with a gay submarine man, Putin said "i prefer not to go to the whoer with him. Why provoke him? What up TC these are the views of the majority of people who worship the god of Abraham. Up until two years ago it was the same way here until President Mr Wall Street outlawed discrimination against homosexuals to distract us from putting the TPP on fast tracking.
