The New York born student as described as looking "visibly shaken" when her defense attorney told her about the prosecutor's offer to take 2 years in prison as she was charged for falsely reporting an incident and tampering with or fabricating evidence. Police said the cockamamie story she made up over rape was to gain sympathy from a prospective boyfriend and was worried he would lose interest in her when it became known she had sex with 2 african americcan football players in the bathroom during an off-campus party. She told police that the men pulled her into the bathroom and took turns raping her The players said it was consensual sex and were eventually cleareed in the case as several party goers witnessed the whole incident and overheard Yovino say she wanted to have sex with them.
