i rented a whole 1 bedroom apartment in san diego before. now i'm going to be staying in a 1 bedroom guest house when we go to san diego next week.

Airbnb is hit or miss just like hotels. You might get a crappy place that looked nice in pics, or a crappy owner who is non-responsive or oversells the place.

We kind of want to stay someplace where the owner will be home. Hear some neat stories, find out interesting local places to go, see something crazy happen, etc...

I have used Airbnb twice and am using it again this weekend in Las Vegas. In my opinion they are worth it for the amount of money you save from not going to a motel/hotel. Thus far the host/hostess have the house well furnished. The previous Airbnb I stayed at was amazingly good.

My cousins and I stayed there for Memorial Day weekend. It was more than big enough for us 10 adults and seven kids. Plus the kids were able to stay together and play with each other. Us adults ended up paying only about $320 a person which is really good compared to the motel/hotel fees along the Strip for Memorial Day weekend.

My first stay was for eight of us and despite being small and only one bathroom (that was my mistake) it was still sufficient for our needs and was dirt cheap.

uhhh, why can't you guys just rent a a place and talk to locals? I would be a little suspicious if you wanted me to be home (especially in 2017, like why in the fuck)

the place i'm staying is a guest house with the owners in their main house

regardless of whether they're on site, you can always request recommendations.

i never wanted to just rent a room because of the social awkwardness for me having a shared space with a stranger.

I rented out my house for a week when the RNC was downtown.

Got payed $3000 to stay in a nice hotel.

I haven't been on the other side, but everything was fine on my side.

We booked two nights at a nice married gay couple's house by a lake. The room is large with a bed and a living like area with a private entrance. They said they could leave us completely alone or we could watch TV, play Xbox and eat dinner with them. He even knows of a natural rock water slide we can check out.

I used it in Alaska, awesome experience.

It was June so hotels were like $180 a night for a motel 6. I stayed in some girls place with her dog for $50 a night.

She was awesome, cooked dinner for me (even though I was hardly there) let me do laundry, gave me good ideas for things to do. The large Husky was very entertaining! 10/10 experience.

Solid 7/10, I would have taken a shot at it as she was way above and beyond being nice to me, but I had to meet her boyfriend one of the evenings ugh. If I hit it would have created the first religion based on praising Airbnb.
