Actually I would care. My reaction would be he same if no races were mentioned. The thing is, as I said earlier, you can't instantly say that race no longer plays any role in situations like this. You can't ignore that preconceived stereotypical ideas about certain races can determine how people interact with each other. It's the sad truth. IF that was the case here it's even worse because a cop shouldn't act on those thoughts. If it didn't happen here then we still have an issue of idiocy. But stop trying to immediately remove any possibility of race being a factor. It doesn't have to be filled with hate for that race. Stereotypes in certain situations can be just as damaging.

Lordy I would hope there is some footage of this. I don't see how after being cleared by the first 2 cops, the third one had enough reason to shoot >_>

Who cares if he was in uniform or not? A regular citizen wouldn't be in uniform either. If I complied and a cop told me to get up, and in doing so I get shot because some chicken shit viewed me standing up as a threat...that wouldn't be ok either. The whole story? Do you think the off duty cop pointed a gun at the cop who shot him? Do you think the off duty cop made a threatening move? Maybe he just had a gun on him. In which case this is America where people want MORE guns. He is allowed to have one is he not? If he even had one on him I highly doubt he pointed it at anything. The third cop just saw movement and instantly shot like a punk. That shit isn't ok. Ever.

Yeah panic firing at the very thought of danger isn't proper behavior for people with gun training, or normal people for that matter.

According to the police statement, the armed suspects then fled on foot. Meanwhile, an off-duty officer who lived near where the crash occurred came outside with his department issued firearm after hearing the commotion.

In other words, they were chasing armed suspects, and this guy comes out with his gun. He is ordered to walk toward them when a third officer (the white supremacist) rushes on the scene to see a uninformed man with a gun approaching the officers and shoots. Yeah, that's totally because of racism.

I wouldn't be happy if the cop who got shot was white. This is the type of bull shit I want to stop regardless of race. I just also understand that even if someone isn't racist, race and stereotypes about that race can affect how an individual approaches a situation. They may not intend malicious intent but it can happen. Immediately dismissing that notion is foolish.

It is possible that stereotypes he holds about black People caused him to be a little more tense about the situation and it led to this. Do I know that? No of course not. But it is a possibility. It's welcome in the discussion and you're free to counter that point.
