I've been using the remote for years now, as the buttons on the TV don't work.

From what I can see, you need the tv to be on to program a universal remote. Is there anyway around this?

Yes it's plugged in... How the hell else would I be using the remote for years until it broke?

Anyways, luckily my dad had an old lg g2 I used to turn the TV on, so I could program the universal remote. M

Have you tried rinsing it out with water?
