Having all of those people, friends and family of the both of us, all there watching us exchange vows and such. I mean, I'm not good with so many eyes on me in general, but being the center of so much attention has always made me nervous.

Some people would say divorce/alimony/child support, but you don't really plan for those (and those are all worst-case scenarios); however, you DO in most cases have to plan for a wedding.

People are so nice, friendly and encouraging towards you on that day. You'll be fine. You're the center of attention but it is in a good way. You kinda feel like a celebrity I guess? It's hard to explain. They're all there for you and your partner and they're happy to see you. It's different than something like a public speech.

To be fair the spectacle is a very large part of the excitement surrounding a wedding. Though it can sometimes be a bigger motivating factor than the love behind the marriage.

I am so grateful that my wife insisted on a very small wedding. She has some anxiety issues and the thought of having a big production freaked her out.
It was just some family and a few friends. Like 20 people total.

Edit: thought about it and actually counted. including me, my wife, our 2 kids, and the dude marrying us, there were 14 people there
