R.I.P restaurants tomorrow. Already got those Sunday crowds and add in a bunch of REALLY hungry muslims to the already high volume...

Yup tommorow is gonna suck. Last year we got so many parties of muslim families. Like at one point we had 5 big Muslim parties on a waiting list(plus various others and every single one of the muslim groups was 7-20 people. So we literally had a good 80 people waiting. That's like half our seating capacity and we were already full.

At least assuming the groups were Muslim based on appearance, Ramadan just ending and hearing some of them speak what sounded like arabic. Not exactly fluent in it though and it's noisy so IDK. Doesn't really matter much to know except maybe to not suggest pork products to them.

We tend to get very nice families on Ramadan. I think it's mostly the same families every year. We had a couple brothers with a HUUUUGE family that almost literally wrestled over who paid the bill (as in they both WANTED to pay).

So that makes it not too bad. Still a crazy AF day though....also funnily enough I work in a place where pork is one of our most prominent things <_<

Do Muslims go to good ol fashioned American restaurants like Dennys and Applebee's? I can't actually recall ever seeing them in restaurants I go to and there is a large population in my city

Finally me and my friends are going to be able to hang out.
My muslim friends don't really like to hang out on Ramadan because we usually eat food when we hand out.
We are actually going to play smash for like the whole day on monday.

Same. They even make the cornbread with bacon grease, cook the vegetables with some bacon and country ham, bacon in the mashed potatoes, and 75% of the menu is pork BBQ product. Exception is a few chicken and beef brisket items, and steaks.

I mean, if they're understaffed and poorly trained.

Most of the front of the house gets paid by volume as well in most restaurants so they should be happy regardless.

This is slow time of year anyways, and the industry hasn't been doing well. They should all be hungry for hours...

This is slow time of year anyways, and the industry hasn't been doing well. They should all be hungry for hours...

I don't get paid extra because we are busy. I am not part of the wait staff. I only get extra money from carryout and serving the counter seats but on weekends they tend to have me on the door and/or bussing and also have a specific person assigned to counter instead of it just being pickup.

So I probably won't see any extra money tommorow but I will get extra work.

It is traditional to feast at the end of Ramadan.

They're not starving but you're definitely going to be hungry during Ramadan and there's a feast at the end of it. So TC's assessment is accurate.

My dad isn't Muslim anymore but as a kid he would sneak bread to share with his brother (obviously he wasn't much of a Muslim back then either, lol).
