Hey board 8! I'm sure a lot of us are either not in shape, or want something to keep us motivated to push for more, right?

It would involve walking, running or cycling, and either group targets for distance covered or calories burned. I would come up with a nice spreadsheet with individual and group achievements.

All that you would have to do is submit your distance/time and the type of activity you completed and I would use a calculator to come up with the rest.

Who needs fitbit when you have DSRage, am I right?

Let me know if you'd be interested in participating regularly! Thanks :D

I'm willing to at least inquire what this is actually going to be like.

I'm tentatively interested.

I was thinking about getting the health and fitness topic going again since I allowed the last one to purge. I feel like a merger of this concept and a standard fitness discussion topic could be a good idea.

I do roller derby, so steps and the like aren't accurately counted by anything. If I could figure out a way to track things aside from "I was less winded on lap three than I was last practice" I would be interested.

I go home but I go directly to the train station, which is just like a 10-minute walk (not really worth noting). my morning walk is where I meander all over.

I'm interested. Though I'd need to find a way for me to walk while not melting in this summer sun....

Well, okay, Thursday I ran 9.3 miles. ("Ran," because a third of it was walking.)

That's a good bit longer than my usual outings.

I could come up with some formula with a bit of research. Obviously there will be a lot of estimating with this topic (to be honest, a lot of estimations are even used with a fitbit) but our estimations will have a simple, consistent formula. If things seem way off, we can tweak our formulas.

Right now I'm looking for good formulas for distance/time based on a math calculation alone... does such a thing exist, or would the only accurate way to log it be to use an online calculator every time?

I think we will start July 1st so we can have fresh stats on a month-month basis that will be kept elsewhere. We can use this topic as a sign up. If you want a special "other" type of exercise added to your profile, let me know and I can include it.

I will include stretch goals for both b8 as a whole, and individually, when we launch July 1st.

Please give me ideas to improve my sheets!

Cheers!

When signing up, you don't need to include your age, but your weight is kind of important. If you don't sign up with your weight or don't want people to know, it will be automatically set to 170lbs.
