Spider-Man 1 and 2 were overall better films than Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2, but Garfield was a better fit for the role by leaps and miles.

I also just fucking hate Maguire, he has a super punch-able face.

Looking forward to Tom Holland's portrayal though, I expect him to be the best of the 3.

Garfield was way too cocky right off the bat.
Peter was a 15 yr old, suit wearing, high school nerd.
He only gets more confident when he's in the suit and after he smashed a load of super puss outside of the suit.

I agree. Maguire was shit. Garfield was exactly what Spiderman was; a genius anti-social loner who was actually very charming.

I hate to say it, but overall I liked Garfield over Maguire. I thought Garfield's Spiderman 2 was fun and developed a lot of necessary characters. The end amped me up for what might be coming in the future with Rhino and other classic villains.

The Amazing Spider-Man movies both get more hate than they deserve. They had some flaws, sure, a couple of big ones, but they were still enjoyable films, and Garfield and Stone were both great in their leading roles.

Basically sums up my thoughts. Of course, the original trilogy of movies did a lackluster job of writing Spider-man's dialogue so we never got a chance to see Toby take a shot at being the snarky, funny Spider-man.

This was always my thought. I also thought Topher Grace would have captured both Parker and Spiderman. Instead they cast him as Venom. >_>
