Almost every time I go see a movie it's alone.

I don't make it a habit but when I have a $2 or $4 movie ticket I'm going regardless of if I can find a companion.

I usually try to pick an older movie or late showtime though so it's not crowded.

Technically once, Brother and Mother was watching the newest Fast & The Furious Movie, Father went and saw Kong, and I by myself saw Power Rangers, so if it counts that's the only time I saw a movie by myself...

I've done it before but it's not a regular habit. I don't see anything wrong with it. Even if you go in a pair/group you're experiencing it solo since you're not supposed to be talking.

The first and only time was on my birthday to see Mad Max Fury Road. The wife and kids had to do boring mall stuff and I saw that it was playing and decided to treat myself.

On occasion, usually as a last minute thing. If it's 7pm on a Tuesday and I decide I want to see a movie, and the showing starts at 730, I'm not gonna bother trying to get people to go with me. I'll just go to the movie.

I think I did once when I already had the tickets and something came up with said companion.

Wasn't really weird or awkward but I prefer much more to go with friend's and family.

I did once. I went to a hookah bar with some friends, and even though it was totally legal, I knew my parents wouldn't be happy with me smoking hookah. So I went and saw Age of Ultron by myself to at least try and air out a little more.

Sure, if there's something I really want to see that I know I can't talk the hubby into. I was the only person in the theater when I saw Wreck-it Ralph.

When half of my days off are weekdays, it's hard to get people to go to a 3 in the afternoon showing of a movie. Plus I like a mostly empty theater. No screaming kids, no rude assholes talking loudly throughout the movie, and I can usually sit dead center and enjoy a movie in peace, even fairly new releases. Only time I go to any movie with people or in the opening week is if friends ask, otherwise I'd rather do it my way.
