While it doesn't really matter and should probably die, I'd argue it's much more important and the fact that the Pubs won't even criticize it off hand is concerning. Particularly when relations with Russia are so tense. Yet Trump seems to want nothing more than to lay down and act as a welcome mat. It's not terrible on its own, but certainly worth keeping an eye out for. You'd expect a lot more uproar about this.

Russian interference was real. Interference is a far lower bar to reach than hacking. Openly supporting Trump over Hillary was interference, I mean.

How accurate would it be if I said "People who believe Russia interfered with the election, probably also believe jet fuel can't melt steel beams."?

Russia did interfere. The important question is to what extent. It's also important to remember that interference does not necessarily mean hacking.

You're going to get dizzy if you keep spinning like that.

Interference and hacking are not synonyms, regardless of how the media conflates the two. It's easier to dismiss a proven claim (Putin openly supporting Trump over Hillary) when people confuse a less likely claim (hacking) for the exact same thing.

I like how you seem to think "Russia interfered in the election" - something every US intelligence agency agrees upon and which their representatives have testified to under oath - is spin, but "People who believe in Russian interference = 9/11 truthers" somehow isn't.

My opinion on the whole matter is simple.

Russia or patriotic Russians made attempts to hack things, influence the election, and so forth. But this isn't some horrible evil.

Countries attempting to influence each other is just fine. Why? Because not only is it reasonable for a country to try to influence another nation in order to get the best situation for themselves, but at the end of the day, by all rights a country like the USA SHOULD be able to carry on without much influence actually happening.

So really, why are people getting upset at Russia? Hell, WE influence other countries all the time, often in ways a fair bit more blunt then merely messing with an election a little (at times, our methods include arming rebel forces that are outright drying to topple their government, or dropping bombs on government forces of a nation we decide we really don't like).

But yeah. If there is any reason at all to be upset, then it would be only because we actually let ourselves be influenced by any attempts Russia/Russian supporters made to influence us. You know, assuming we did in fact allow ourselves to be influenced. And the blame for THAT can be put squarely on our government and media.

It's not fake news.
CNN pulled it because it didn't meet their requirements for a story.
Hell if anything this is the OPPOSITE of fake news since it proves CNN gives a shit about legitimacy and that holy shit there are actually consequences for not meeting research requirements for a topic.
Again, the story is real, it just didn't meet CNN's requirements of absolute certainty.

They attacked the voter registries in two dozen states. I'd say that crosses the line from "fair play" to something worth getting upset about.
