-I'm on an isolated area, probably a fucking island -I'm all alone with my boss, some robots, and some asian lady who doesn't speak english -my boss is one of the most powerful men on earth, could have me killed in a fucking second - that's if I even get out of this place with the robot successfully -the robot IS TRYING TO TRICK HIM And he still tries to spring her after spending a few days having normal conversations with her. That said, disregarding the implausibility of the plot itself, they did a phenomenal job taking a topic that has been beaten to death and is relatively uninteresting, from a sci-fi perspective (the turing test), and turned it into a really suspenseful and engaging movie.

BUT THEY DON'T JUSTIFY HIS ACTIONS. This dude is a complete fucking idiot, and they reason this by saying "we profiled you". Yeah it logically makes sense, but it doesn't make for a good movie. This is the antithesis of "show, don't tell" And they committed this atrocity in the worst way.

I had hoped that they would imply that the helicopter pilot was in on it and was expecting a robot to show up eventually, otherwise why did the helicopter pilot leave with her? Because she told him to? Why did he leave without the kid?
