So quit my job in march for a new job opportunity, that job fell through, so I didn't get insurance. Didn't have a job so couldn't afford insurance. I finally get a job, but the insurance they offer doesn't qualify for the individual mandate. So go try to get me some obamacare and you can only sign up in january unless you have lost your insurance in the last 60 days. Insurance didn't kick in at my new job because I wasn't there long enough. So because I was too broke to afford insurance and white (they asked some questions to see if they could make an exception including whether I was black or native american) I do not qualify to get insurance at this time.

Wasn't obamacare specifically made to help insure people who are too poor to get insurance? Why is it only open one month out of the year?

Insurance is stupid. Just don't get sick or die and you'll be fine.

Paying the fee for not having insurance at the end of the year is cheaper than actual insurance so..

it's stupid, but because of this, when you do your taxes next year, you'll be exempt from the penalty fee.
