Im Aussie and i love my country, best country in the world lol. Im extremely greatful i was born here.

I'm American. Of course not.

Canada. Love might be a strong word, but I do like some of our accomplishments. I hate to say love, though, because I feel like we have a lot of work to do still and we aren't quite their yet.

That's a very lofty claim of a country that offers such an insanely broad range of experiences, especially when it's many of the less favorable ones foisted upon most of the people.

There isn't just one United States of America. There is a vastly different one depending on who, what, and where you are and the best one is limited to only a few that are far outnumbered by those experiencing the worst. Many people in many parts of America deal with the same problems that supposedly make other countries worse than us. What does it mean to someone who, for example, can't get clean drinking water and food for their kids or has the option of going utterly broke trying to treat a disease, dying, or both, that "it could be a lot worse" when this is supposed to be the best country on the planet? It's an empty, almost insulting sentiment.

I love certain things about America but as a whole, no. Yeah we rock on certain things like freedom of expression and that kind of stuff, but IMO that should be bare minimum for us yet it's touted as the cherry on top.

And then people always reduce this stuff about loving the US to "Hey, at least we're not North Korea, some brutal theocracy, or destitute war torn country" like that's any standard or accomplishment lol.
