Republican Governor, Rick Snyder has shocked his own party after he VETOED a legislation on Friday requiring Michigan to create and sell an ANTI-ABORTION fundraising license plate!!

The measure, approved by the GOP controlled legislature would have required the "Choose Life" plate to be issued by next June

Snyder said that the politically contenious bill would have bitterly divided residents and that it wasn't appropriate for the state to issue such a political message

The "Choose Life" license plate is a political message that has the potential to divide millions of residents where Michigan currently has fundraising plates for public univeersities and 14 special causes such as breast cancer awareness that cost drivers $35 initially before brought down to 10 bucks each.

The money from the choose life license plates would have gone to the board controlled by the Righ to Life in Michigan which has long lobbied the government to include it

The organization said "This plate will happen in Michigan. We'll work with the next governer to get it done"

Snyder has signed anti-abortion legisatlion in the past but shown little enthusiasm for this hot button issue

Republicans were not happy as Senator Patrick Colbeck, who is running to succeed Snyder in 2018. He called the veto "utterly disgraceful" and said this bill would have prevented THOUSANDS ofa bortions by providing support to women who worry about having resources to raise a child.

He said "Prenatal care, suicide prevention, adoption services, these are not divisive issues. A simple "choose life" message is not divisive unless one somehow asserts "choose death" is a worthy cause"

Many Democrats opposed the bill including Rebekah Warren who praised the governor's actions and said she appreciated his veto message

Rebekah said "You can buy a bumper sticker or wear a T-shirt but "choose life" should not appear on state license plates"
