and somehow managed to kill Raditz with Piccolo, could he have trained up to beat Nappa and Vegeta?

He probs wouldn't have Kaioken and spirit bomb, but he's a hella good trainer and would probably have the whole team up to a much higher level. And having a sparing partner probably would have given him some decent gains.

I kinda don't think so. Sure the team as a whole would probably be better, but not enough to withstand Vegeta & Nappa. King Kai was Goku's introduction to high gravity training, which was a staple to most high level training (time chamber, Goku's Namek ship, & Vegeta uses it heavily afterward) from then on.

Goku needed Kaioken to beat Vegeta in the beam struggle.

Without training from King Kai he might have been able to get strong enough to beat Nappa (though I doubt it), but even if he could beat Nappa Vegeta would be able to solo the whole group.

It doesn't matter. Nappa and Vegeta only head to Earth because they hear Piccolo talk about the Dragonballs when explaining how he'll revive Goku.

Goku would have been around for the Z Fighters to think of some sort of strategy since Goku was there. They would have figured it out with the Power Pole or Mafuba or something.

Buddy, they could not possible defeat Vegeta without the Kaioken and spirit bomb. It wasn't possible.

everyone would be weaker. king kai wouldn't bother getting involved. gohan wouldn't be a part of it since chichi wouldn't let gohan train and goku wouldn't just kidnap his son like piccolo did. goku and piccolo wouldn't train together and neither would train with the other humans so they would be doing the same kami training.

piccolo would be stronger since he wouldn't have gohan to worry about. goku would be overall weaker since no kaioken or spirit bomb and no gravity training. but go ahead and say he's still 8k. he can beat nappa but would have a harder time. vegeta easily stomps everyone since he's double gokus power.

difference is everyone will be there to fight vegeta but he still wins. but if vegeta and nappa fight at the same time then piccolo is probably on par with nappa in this scenerio. he wasn't that much weaker than him before and his extra training probably gets him on his level. but then you lose gohan so no oozaru although vegeta would never get to the point he even needs it.
