I'm at the point in Morrowind where I'm obscenely rich, with dozens of pieces of glass and ebony armor and weapons to sell. Plus dozens of Daedric weapons.

Now I've payed for an insane amount of levels in my misc skills.

Its not as forgiving as skyrim with character creation and i think that turns new people to the series off. Amazing game though.

I don't think character creation turns people off, in fact if you look at Morrowind after playing Skyrim first and are still interested, you'll probably be excited about the increased choices and weapons more than anything. What I believe turns people off is the lack of voiced dialouge, the static-ness of the world, and of course graphics.

Another stupid thing about Morrowind is stat draining. When a zombie drains your strength you are fucked because you lose attack power and you walk slow as fuck and you need that specific potion to cure that curse or you're fucked forever.

Draining is fine. Problem in Morrowind is the person in charge of magic effects apparently didn't understand the difference between Drain and Damage. Damage attribute lasts until restored making it semi permanent, while Drain Attribute is temporary and just wears off after a bit. Damage is clearly much more powerful but costs less and is used much more often than Drain, it also costs less, and frankly Drain sucks compared to Damage.
