I don't care so much about first person VR, I like just being in the world of it. Lucky's Tale, a VR platformer was fucking amazing visually. I could image in world in the not-to-distance future of people using VR instead of a real monitor for their workstation, would be great in Alaska and other places where people get depressed easily because of the daylight hours. Or if you lived in a shitty little cramped apartment, VR to change the mood. Look at Robo Recall and Lone Echo, those are both some really cool shit you can do with motion tracking and a headset. Robo Recall is basically just an arcade shooter but with the motion controllers you can throw robots at other robots, rip off their limbs (and throw them at other robots), use their bodies as shields, etc. To grab each specific gun you literally reach to where each gun would be hanging on your body and grab it. Lone Echo has this multiplayer shit called Echo Arena which is basically zero-g ultimate frisbee a la Ender's Game. Tracking accuracy is pretty close to perfect with both at this point, though the Vive is easier to set up and can have a slightly bigger range. The rift is essentially compatible with everything (though there can be some control issues in games not designed for it).
