Abstain. I haven't yet seen Homecoming, so I can't favor one over the other.

I want to say that I liked Spider-Man 2 overall (I've seen it tons of times but not in the last several years), but Tom Holland is definitely a better Peter AND a better Spider-Man.

No way he was a better Spidey. He was completely in over his head the entire time and had very little grasp on his powers. And he had no Spider Sense whatsoever.

Yeah, he's literally just starting out. That works for this kind of story.

Tobey was actually a pretty lousy Spider-Man, even though some of his action scenes were pretty good.

Homecoming by far. Raimi trilogy was cringey as fuck.

The only things that made Tobey a bad Spider-Man was his lack of humor, and his penchant for revealing his identity.

I'm generally willing to give the new kid a pass for his lack of battle skills, but even when scaled for experience, Tobey was a better Spidey.

Lack of humor, sure. The other thing was just a plot choice.

Well Andrew was also pretty bad in that regard.

Overall, Tobey Peter>Andrew Peter, Andrew Spidey>Tobey Spidey, and Holland is the best of both.

I loved Toby and Spider-Man one and two, but this kid was a better Spider-Man. I think they created him in a lab to play Spider-Man.

Michael Keaton has me leaning toward homecoming over 2, but I refuse to vote until like two years from now to see if homecoming stands the test of time

Also, in Homecoming three people discovered his identity, two of which were directly due to Peter's carelessness.

I don't really dislike Holland as either Peter or Spider-Man (which is more than I can say for Andrew's Peter). I think he did a pretty good Peter; I just think he wasn't the best Spidey.

Homecoming. Never like Spider-Man 2 that much. Didn't like how they did Doc Ock or the Spider-Man no More story which went on for way too long. Plus I hate the MJ/Peter drama. I liked the first Spider-Man movie more than 2 and I liked ASM 1 and 2 more than the others.

I don't think we've really seen his full Spidey ability yet, he's still supposed to be a rookie and Homecoming clearly set up the real Spidey action in the next film.

The thing I really disliked about the writing of Tobey's character was the lack of creating tech to defeat villains. Though that wasn't really fixed in Homecoming since the suit and tech were all created by Tony Stark. Hopefully in future films he'll make his own tech. I really want him to create Spider tracers that are linked to his spider sense (I think they'll use it more in future films hopefully).

I loved Raimi's version of Doc Ock, but I agree about the "Spider-Man No More" story.

I think DafoeGoblin was a better villain than Ock, but Spider-Man 2 was a better movie in general.

Honestly, though, even though I liked some aspects of the Amazing series, I ended up liking even Spider-Man 3 more than either of those.

Ok, I may be a little bias
I loved the trilogy, they'll always hold a special place in my childhood heart, even 3.
Spiderman 2 was my favorite comic movie period, I LOVED Doc Oc and I LOVED all the fight scenes
lol when I was a kid I'd put all my toy cars in a row to make a train and try to recreate the train fight scene

However, I recently rewatched the trilogy after Homecoming and yeah it's painful you don't get to see quipy comedy Spidey, if Tobey pulled off that it would've been perfect. I, for one like how they made him a kid starting out, and Tom does such an excellent job portraying him
But I just love 2 so much. don't think it can ever be topped, and I can't believe it's losng by a margin

How? TASM sucked so much ass it isn't even funny
As Honest Trailers put it best: "Peter Parker is an average, funny, cool, well dressed, likeable LOSER"
I couldn't stand Andrew, as peter or spidey tbh

I mean that ASM 1 was the worst costume, and ASM2 was the best costume.

I did like aspects of the Homecoming/Civil War costume, such as the way the eyes are reminiscent of the Ditko/Romita Sr. versions, and the fact that the web pattern isn't "raised", and the way the eye-lenses can emote in a believable way (they look like the shutter/aperture of a camera, which works for the photography element of the character). I didn't like the black bands or the "techy" lines on the blue bits, but I can see that as being something Stark added for "flair".
