If officers aren't named by the police or the officer's lawyers, etc. then the press can't post a picture.

In the case I mention in this topic, the officer's name is known. And many other (smaller) websites have posted his picture. CNN and other mainstream heavy weights are refusing to do so and there is yet an explanation of why.

I remember a story when a black man (I can't remember his name) died in a police van after not being properly restrained and six officers were implicated and/or charged in the incident. The white ones were pictured in the leftist media article with names, addresses, social security numbers and all other personal information but the non-white ones were portrayed as blank placeholder images used in social media profiles before users have selected or created an actual profile picture and they had the shrug emoticon listed in the places where the white officers' information was.

No. I'm just curious as to why the usual crowd isn't calling for a special investigation for racism and/or hate crimes in this instance. At face value, it certainly seems like the sort of case they would pick up on and mention racism if the officer was white and deceased was African American.

Why would it not to them? The woman was a different race than the officer and was unarmed.

Unless "they" or "them" believe racism against whites doesn't exist, I can't see how this case isn't a textbook example of someone innocent being gunned down by another race.

IIRC, these police shootings of black people have resulted in federal civil rights investigations, not hate crime charges. As for why the Justice Department thinks "civil rights" when a black person is shot by police but not when a white person is, the answer is: "American history."
