Cheetahs are the largest cat that purrs. They also meow, and it sounds exactly like a housecat, which is somehow extra adorable coming from a cheetah 'cause it's so big. The first video I saw, I didn't believe it and thought the sound was dubbed.
Here, have some cheetahs meowing and purring.     That last video has the best Youtube comment I've seen: "No wonder they're so fast, listen to that motor." ... Copied to Clipboard!

That's what I thought. Again, I totally thought this was fake when I saw the first video. Cheetahs are apparently just small enough to purr still, I guess. Plus that meowing is so cute.

You had me at "meowing" no, they aren't supposed to. if a cat can roar, it cannot purr and vise versa. it's why housecats aren't able to roar. cats meow as an attempt at emulating human speech. so cheetas might actually be the largest cat to be able to purr, considering all the scientific tests to figure out purring was done on cheetas and domesticated housecats. if a lion or panther could purr, we'd probably test their frequencies, too. also, cheetas cannot roar. --- Vote to keep the ability to hide the tabs on the Xbox One Dashboard https://xbox.uservoice.com/forums/363186--new-ideas/suggestions/19542517 ...
