Ed Sheeran doesn't give a fuck if people liked or disliked the GoT scene. People are talking about him, that's all that matters.

Or HBO just approached him and said "hey ed. Here is some money. We got this short scene where we want someone to sing. Wanna do it?"...and neither expected neckbeard nerds to get this upset about it.

Do you think it's jealousy or what? What would posses someone to get so bothered by such a small appearance.

I haven't seen one episode of GOT and don't care about Sheeran but if you're into a somewhat serious show and they throw in some popstar to be a popstar it would ruin the entire thing don't you think?

Like what if they have Harry Styles do some One Direction crap in Dunkirk halfway through the movie? I'd wanna slap Nolan.

It was a minor cameo in a small scene. I don't watch GOT either but it's such a petty thing to freak out over. It's happened plenty of times over the years. Celebs make cameos on tv shows. It doesn't ruin the show.

Then you can't form a proper opinion on the matter. It fit with the tone of the show.

It was a 10 minute scene showing that not all people in the lannister army are bad and deserve to be killed. It's a moral dilemma for Arya. His 10 minute appearance could have been anyone and the scene would have remained the same, it's not like it didn't fit the tone.

Just because he happens to be (apparently) a famous singer, doesn't mean it was bad...

That's where you are confused, the outrage is 100% unreasonable. I don't know if it's jealousy or what, but it did not harm the show in any way.

It didn't ruin anything though, the scene would have played out the exact same way w/o him.

Why does the fact that he is some famous singer somehow ruin it?

I think the real point is slighty different. Pick someone you don't like. It does not really matter if they are a celebrity or not. It matters more that you can't stand them. It could be their smug face or their nasal voice, maybe it's their politics, or maybe they committed a crime... whatever, it's the thing you can't get over. Now imagine this demon spawn randomly shows up in your favorite show, favorite movie, favorite play, again it's whatever. I think most people would be upset about it, even though it is petty and somewhat irrational. I know some people who refuse to watch anything that Mel Gibson directs, based on things he's said in the past, even though you never see him in the movie. I tell them it's silly, but they still get triggered by his name popping up on the damn trailers.

A combination of that and the fact that a show like game of thrones is going to attract the worst of overly critical and dramatic losers who have nothing better to do with their time than to get their panties in a bunch over a 3 minute scene from a show they watch.
