27 y/o Tramp, Emily Lofing from Nebraska, a married teacher gets only 90 days Prison after she gave BIRTHDAY SEX to a 16 y/o Kid!!

She was charged with misdemeanor of debauching a minor in February and was later changed to contributing to the deliquency of a child due to the boy being over the age of CONSENT!!

With good behaviour, she could be released from Prison in 53 days however..

The former English Teacher at Nebraska City Middle School pleaded no contest and was not given a lengthier sentence due to Nebraska state law allowing any 16 y/o to consent to sex

Judge John Steinheider mentioned the law when handing down the sentence and said "This alleged indiscretion, i'll say, took place on the victim's 16th birthday. You were less than 24 hours from a felony here. For lack of a better terms, in her life, poof, she had a mental breakdown. She makes an incredibly horrible decision"

It happened when the mother of the teen boy sent an email to police outlining how she feared the teacher, who was married in 2014, was sleeping with her son and was a student at Weeping Water School

Emily was on admin leave when the allegations took place and she shortly resigned thereafter and surrendered her teaching certificate

Emily apparently arranged a PRESENT for the 16 y/o boy and offered him SEX as a "gift" for him...it was then the teen boy's mother blew the whistle on her.

Age of Consent laws vary from state to state and most are 18 while others are 16 to 17. Canada's Age of Consent was only INCREASED by 2 years to 16 in 2008.

I consider it ridiculous because of the degree of power she has. she has access to grades as well as stuff like cars and booze. in a position of power like that, you really should be expected to keep personal things and your work life separate. she should get more time because she has that role.

This isn't even counting the fact that she's already married.

If it was a 16 year old with a 19/20 year old, the parents should only bat their eyes if there's cars/drink involved. but being older implies that they might have a Job/More income. maybe there should be an addendum to laws stating that if a child is living on their own, without any dependency on parents, then they're considered legal adults, either that or until they're past the age of 21.

You know, as recently as 100 years ago, stuff like this wasn't really a crime. Teenagers were pretty much already considered adults, and were earning a living in some way.

But things have changed. Teens, even though sexually mature, do not have the responsibilities and maturity they used to in generations past. We expect people in a position of power not to take advantage of young teenagers, and for good reason.

It's newsworthy when female teachers do it, because it's less common.

Per capita, male teachers sleep with their students far more frequently than female teachers do. The amount of cases are about equal, but there are far less male teachers, so yeah.

A little story I've never told anyone, I'd like to share:

I was in my senior year (18) at the end of the year, when I started to take notice that my Spanish teacher seemed to treat me differently than the other kids in her classes (it was apparent it started sooner, just fully realized at this point). Some of the younger guys in my class even mentioned they thought she had a thing for me. She was a younger teacher, long blonde hair, with a more athletic build--good looking by teacher standards.

She gave me lunch detention (which she'd never given me before--or anyone for that matter) one day out of the blue for seemingly nothing, especially considering I cut up in her class literally every chance I had, constantly hitting on the several good looking underclassmen in our Spanish class (this is what evolved our student teacher relationship into something kinda weird throughout the year).

I came into her room that day during lunch, and she had me sit towards the back in the first row (where you couldn't see from the door window) on the other side of the room where her desk was, and she closed the door, locked it, and came over and sat on top of my desk, like right in my face, and started talking to me about my personal life, mostly my girlfriend at the time, which was kind of weird, and made some comments about her (my gf) being really quiet, and not my type at all, and basically implying I only was dating her to have sex with her, ending the segment about me and my girlfriend saying high school relationships don't last outside of HS. She switched the topic from me, to her, telling me about her husband, and how she had gotten married at a young age (she was now 25, married at 21) and told me she regretted it, claiming she missed out on a lot of experiences and fun that she could have had and still be having (with a smirk on her face), other people she could have been with, and that she didn't want to get divorced, but didn't wish to remain married any longer either. She also told me her husband didn't satisfy her in general, and that if she could go back and redo things she'd still be single.

Then there was an attempt to open the door, followed by a knock. She looked at the door, looked at me and said they'd go away. But they kept knocking, so she annoyingly rolled her eyes, gave a heavy sigh, went and answered the door. Was a girl from another class that needed some help on something...so she let her in, walked up to me, and said "I'll see you tomorrow".

whether its true or not, its not okay either way. One problem we have though is the double standards our society places. Men are seen as the agressor, and they would get a far harsher sentence than a woman who commits the same crime. Female teachers literally get a slap on the wrist and rarely get jail time. She got 90 days, and if the roles were reversed, for sure the guy would get 9 years and known as a child molester and sex offender for his whole life. Let punishments be equal for both men and women.
