You can volunteer to join this system. You will have to pay much more % in taxes but you will get things like universal health care, guaranteed maternity/paternity leave, guaranteed paid vacation time and paid federal holidays, universal income, and other benefits

Many people and businesses would have to volunteer for this to work... would you put your money where your mouth is?

Depends, it won't work if not enough people are involved. If enough people joined to make it sustainable realistically then absolutely.

It wouldn't work on a volunteer basis because it needs to be a functioning and maintained system throughout the nation.

But yeah, sounds great. Nordic countries have lower income inequality and a great quality of life.



Also universal income isn't a part of that.

The Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) combined have fewer people than Texas. If enough people volunteered it would work.

But people and businesses would actually have to volunteer. The main problem you will find is that not many people are actually going to pay more taxes by choice.

ITP it wouldn't work if it was voluntary because the only people who would volunteer are the people who would be taking far more out of the pot than they put in

Why only target Nordic entitlements and services this way? How would America look if taxes were merely optional?
