In general yes. I advocate being honest and dealing with things in an adult manner, it's just better in the end for everyone involved. If you're thinking it because you have issues that may be resolved, communication between two mature people will clarify how you two feel and allow you to try to fix things if possible, if you're willing to evolve or open yourself up more to your partner's feelings.

With some people discussion will turn up nothing but negativity and misunderstanding, but in that case your relationship is doomed anyway.
