The logic I've heard for this is that in America Muslims are more westernized and less radicalized than those in Europe and are a minority so when you do things like this it's punching down but in my opnion no religion should be immune to critism.

Criticism of a minority group can present a unique danger that won't apply to a majority group. And a lot of the criticism of Islam is motivated by racism. Not in the case of Dawkins and Pat Condell (both hard atheists who had a history of criticizing Christianity before they turned their sights to Islam), but that's certainly true for Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin and Joseph Paul Watson.

Not really. In Islamic countries, criticizing Islam is pretty much a crime. You get jailed or killed for it.

They're just trying to impose this mindset in the West, while hiding behind "discrimination"
