Makarov still isn't dead and he's confined to a wheel chair, but I'm sure he's boning

Zeref and Mavis seem to be reincarnated as different people and will probably be boning later

and then Lucy gets drunk and tries to bone Natsu but he's having none of it and carries her home

then the next day they all go to fairy tail and go on a 100 year quest together

I would think after a few arcs people would know how the big bad villain gets beaten. Had a blast with Fairy Tail even though there are still things I would've liked to see happen. Battles could've been longer, but the anime sorta does that at least. Still can't believe it has been 11 years holy shit

The best arc (Phantom Lord) is the only one where that doesn't happen.

This is more a problem with the genre really.
Nearly every similar series I've seen or read does this all the time

It's really convoluted. Don't think I can explain it properly. Has to do with poorly explained time travel and Lucy's mother.

I never watched or read much of it, but it still seemed to have NAKAMA stuff in what little I do remember of it. This style is just unfortunately super common. In some cases they make an enemy so strong they have to come up with bullshit to even deal with them like Aizen or all the dumb Sharingan shit in Naruto.

How is the anime? I've been meaning to check it out

Pretty damn good. The first couple episodes kinda have a rough budget, but if that doesn't bug you it's great and has some of the best music in all of anime with very little filler episodes.

Man... they skipped my favorite ship.

MistGun being Gerard kind of ruined MistGun but that was also great because of the Everyone Is Gerard meme. what a glorious time to be alive.


But man I'm honestly glad this is over. I tapped out awhile after the festival arc (which has one of my favourite chapters, the Pandemonium game that Erza slays. I still read that every now and then just for hype), that arc went to hell. But it was when they started trying to tell me that there was another continent with an evil empire of 12 super mages or whatever that were WAY above the level of any of *our* mages. Also there was a super mage on our continent named God Serena or something who is the best... even though we'd never seen him? Like what the hell? There's been all these major conflicts and the festival and this guy never showed up or was mentioned, and now I'm supposed to buy he's our strongest guy?

Then I started reading fan response to the chapter and people were actually eating that shit up being excited about God Serena. It was such a transparent half hearted attempt at drumming up hype... I was out after that.

I'm sure there were some awesome moments but I have no doubt that those 12 dudes and God Serena were all beaten by Natsu and Co after a bit of bruising up.

I stopped watching Fairy Tail after realizing all battles with Natsu and Erza are AA out of nowhere victories and Lucy's incessant I love Fairy Tail this, I love Fairy Tail that, every dialogue she gets.

Nakama power is just the worst.

I was pretty big on it until about Tenrou Island. The Laxus and Phantom Lord arcs were pretty good. Ended up dropping it near the end of GMG I think, Laxus soloing Raven Tail, Erza vs Kagura, and Natsu soloing Rogue and Sting's guild, and then Rogue and Sting, it all annoyed me too much.

yeah it kinda turned into a mess but still enjoyable imo. i think this was the longest thing ive followed to end :(

if mashima does another series he should stick to goofy ecchi romcom shenanigans imo. or something like yuragi manor with 90% fanservice 10% fite
