They'll probably have some leverage soon given that the Republicans have been forced to get help from the Democrats in the past to avoid shutdowns. Context being I work at a local paper in a red county in a red state, where the editor is liberal. ANY time something even remotely major happens on the political landscape, I (as a lowly front desk person) am always the first to hear about how biased the editor is and how we need more reporters that will support trump.
