How cheap?
Seagrams 7 or R&R is probably the easiest cheap whiskey to drink, and by cheap I mean like less 10 for a liter.

If you are meaning like cheap as in like "not scotch or crown reserve" I'd go with George Dickel.

Scotch tastes like burnt whistkey. Has a smokey flavor. Also it is not made out of corn like bourbon or sour mash. I don't like scotch at all but I'm not a fan of brown liquor anyway (well not anymore). If I'm drinking liquor I'm usually drinking cold shots of vodka.

what are you talking about? it is Tennessee sour mash and it is stronger than Jack. I don't understand how it is gay. Maybe I'm lost or you think "Dickel" sounds gay, which is if that is case, yeah you're too damn young to be drinking anyway. I mean the fact that you can't tell the difference between scotch and bourbon kinda hints at you being underage, because that is distinct. If you couldn't tell the difference in Sour Mash and Bourbon that would be a slightly different story since they are both made of corn.

Smokiness is absolutely not a universal quality of scotch.

Drinking it straight, might as well saved a couple bucks and gotten George Dickel, or spent an extra couple bucks and gotten Makers Mark. I've never been a huge fan of Jack unless it was free.

I don't know a better way to describe it. It is more harsh to me, kinda 'burnt'. I've drank a few different scotches, just enough to know I don't like it, and the last stuff I had wasn't cheap I know that. If I got offered some really rare shit for free I'd probably try it but I'm not into liquor enough to go buy a $50 dollar of liquor, let alone some age rare scotch.

Normally when I'm looking to spend over $20 I get makers (i love bourbon) or captain Morgan private stock. (Love rum too)

I have actually never had Jack so I thought I'd buy a bottle. BBQ sauces gave me the idea.

See I'm not even a big whiskey fan, but I like some Makers. You might just not be a fan of sour mash, I'm pretty sure the difference between it and bourbon is that it isn't as refined. Has a little more kick to it than most bourbon to me.

I used to bartend a whiskey bar years ago, hardly anyone ordered it.

Jim Beam

Fucking try hards

I'm surprised no one has suggested something more expensive than Jack (I didn't suggest Makers just said I preferred it to Jack for not a big difference in price).

R&R and Seagrams 7 are straight up party liquor. Jim Beam has gotten me sick too many times for some reason.

well it is like the bud light/Budweiser of whiskey kinda. everyone knows it, average price at a bar, and not very good but marketed well. Also it has a rich history.

Gentlemen Jack is really good imo but even then I'd rather have Makers.

Scotches have different flavor profiles depending on a number of factors. Smokey/peaty flavors are common in scotch from some areas (like Islay) but are less common or near absent in others (like Speyside).

Not saying you'd for sure like any scotches, but you almost certainly haven't tried enough to know that you dislike all of them.

Stop giving bad advice... Get a lagunitas and a shot of Jameson.

If you'd like to keep the party going all night sub lagunitas for budweiser.

Basically your sentiment and i don't care what others drink but I read this a while back and it made me laugh.

Anyways. I thought I just answered this topic but keeping it sub 25 Jameson would be my go to. If you want bourbon Jim beam double age. If you want scotch dewars blue.

Old Overholt. It's priced similar to the usual suspects on the lower end, but it's way better.

Speyburn. It's pretty damn cheap for a single-malt, and not quite as gratuitously smokey as other speysides.
