Board 8 > Looking for a 3DS RPG to play in transit next month. Thoughts?

I think that about covers it? There's also that new Story of Seasons game, but I think there's a big update that isn't out yet and I'd rather wait for it all to come out. I don't own the first 5, but do own the final 3.

SMT is probably my favourite RPG series. I don't know why I keep putting off Apocalypse.

okay actually i do know why i keep putting off apocalypse: every time i go to play it, something else it out. the last year in games has been ridiculous. i had a brief window early in the year where i could've fit it in, but went with the new dq port instead

nope! atlus stopped putting it on sale for like $5 just after i said, "okay i should just get around to eo4." i've played the ds games and the remakes of 1 + 2 though

i wonder if i should just wait for 5

I wouldn't. I think eo4 is the best original game on the 3ds.

SMT4A is the best of those. Bravely Second is really good too (better than the original imo). Ever Oasis was fun, but kinda disappointing, and I can't muster the motivation to finish it. Rune Factory 4 is fun, but the day cycle just got frustrating for me after awhile.

I think the only system with a better library is the original DS

I think the 3DS library is maybe 5 deep

the DS library was good at the time, but I find that I don't actually want to go back to very many of the games today
