So I've always sorta thought I might be pansexual because I'm pretty alright with dudes and gals and dudes who want to be gals and gals who want to be dudes and people who feel like neither and w/e

Except I think that I actually don't like FtM. At least, not in a romantic or attractive way. So is there a sexuality label for "likes most but not all", or does pan- cover literally anything that is bi+, even if it's not actually everything?

I think having like a dozen labels for weird things like "attracted to M/F/MtF/FtM, but not F" would be kinda much, but I also hecking love labels so

You could call it "One-Cold" sexuality.

Similar to the term "One-Hot" in circuitry. Wikipedia it. I'm too lazy to explain.

Edit: You could even call it "One-Hot" sexuality depending on the phrasing.

Labels are great though. They're so useful even if you don't ever actually use them. Like labeling every single different shade of green is really fun even if it's kind of stupid and no one will ever bother to learn them. Having thousands of different race options on the census would also be super fun, even though that would literally be ridiculous. Labels make the world go round!

Like obviously labels matter or else it would still be okay to use MtF and FtM. What's the correct label to use if MtF/FtM is outdated? I'll start using those.

Humans define ourselves, others, and the entirety of the world we live in mainly by labels. It's hardwired into our brains on a very fundamental level, and is at the root of most of our higher cognitive processes.

It's why we can pick up an apple and immediately go "Hey, this is an apple" - we are comparing the thing we are holding to the mental image we have contructed in our minds connected to the term "apple", and are spitting out the label attached to it. Nearly all of our deductive reasoning and most of our conversational ability is rooted in our ability to label things and draw conclusions from those labels.

The real problem isn't "labeling", per se. It's what connotations you ATTACH to those labels. And how strongly you cling to those assumptions even in the face of potentially needing to revise them.
